-History of Hub City Moms-
-History of Hub City Moms-
Hub City Moms was born of a desire to be open and welcoming to more mothers than ever before. Previously, we were a group of moms under the network of MOPS International, a wonderful organization. But they proved more limiting than we wanted to be.
So in 2017, we amicably broke ties with them to become our very own, non-profit organization, Hub City Moms. Under our new board, we are now able to be open to even more mothers.
Before, once a mother's youngest child reached school age, the mother graduated from the group and was no longer eligible. But with Hub City Moms, there is no age limit - for moms or their children. As a mother, a woman may remain involved with our group as long as she chooses.
We are also able to have greatly reduced dues as a unique organization. MOPS has special dues and fees that all members are required to meet. Our foremothers understood this was too much burden for some to bear. And so, fees were drastically dropped at the incorporation of Hub City Moms.
Hub City Moms has retained much of the structure and ideas of MOPS, but is free to create it's own personality and more easily tend to the needs of the mothers here in the Hub City. We desired to be more accessible, so a hub of talented, driven and passionate moms changed the rules to allow us to make our own rules. What's the fun of being a mom if you can't make your own rules, right?
Hub City Moms has been a thriving group of connected moms in Aberdeen and the surrounding area. We look forward to more joining our circle.

Lisa and her husband David have been married 16 years and moved to Aberdeen in 2014 from Las Vegas. After 12 years of waiting, God answered and they had their first child. 20 months later, their second miracle made her appearance into the world as the best Christmas present ever! They are expecting their third miracle baby, and tie breaker in March 2024. Lisa works part time at Northern and gets to stay home and be with her family, the best of both worlds! In her free time, she likes hockey, crafting, baking, listening to music, hugs, more hockey, and reading...a lot.

Becky Stanek is a stay-at-home mom to a four-year-old boy and a two-year-old boy, at least during the school year. During the summer she works at Richmond and Mina Lake Recreation Areas doing programs and activities in the campgrounds. Her husband is a teacher at Holgate Middle school. Their family moved to Aberdeen two years ago and love how family oriented the community is. Becky enjoys baking, sewing, and reading in my free time, however little that may be!
